The Republic of Inner Island is a massive, safe nation, remarkable for its closed borders, state-planned economy, and free-roaming dinosaurs. The compassionate, cynical, devout population of 2.998 billion Inner Islandians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Education, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 41.0%.

The strong Inner Islandian economy, worth 238 trillion Golds a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, fairly diversified black market in Beef-Based Agriculture, Tourism, Cheese Exports, and Information Technology. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 79,628 Golds, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 3.7 times as much as the poorest.

Many marriages go virtually unconsummated, whipping posts and lashes have been transferred to the Historical Museum of Inner Islandian Embarrassments, many suspect that the 'Whinny The Plop' children's magazine contains covert criticism of Leader, and ethnic minorities are often refused admission to some of the nation's best schools. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Inner Island's national animal is the Clam, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Inner Island is ranked 56,303rd in the world and 376th in The grimy backyard of Bigej for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 133.14 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
